DADS v KIDS
Some well-known faces lining up in the Dads side. Robbie Thorpe in goal, John Frisby - mid field dynamo with a really nice hair do and lovely complexion, John Lynch - right wing demon and Dave Hedges - cultured playmaker,
Robbie was looking seriously worried about being lobbed in those junior goals. He had every right to be worried - the Kids were having a good go at them, a corner flashed across the face with no one able to make contact.
An awful pass from a Dads mid-fielder and Ref, Rob Frisby awarded a free kick. The ball was played into the Dads box, no one managed to connect and Robbie ended up in the back of the net.
The Kids were keeping up the pressure by doing rolling substitutions.
Another free kick to the Kids followed some Dads rough stuff. The ball was fired in low and hard - Robbie made a complete mess of it - a shot was blocked but the loose ball was hammered in by Krysty Sullivan Roes passed the hapless keeper.
Krysty went on a wild lap of honour in celebration with his teammates - milking the applause for all it was worth.
The Dads pressed for the equaliser but it was all too little too late.
FINAL SCORE
KIDS 1 - 0 DADS
Interview with Krysty: When asked about the goal he modestly said, 'I just stuck my foot out'. He also revealed that
the biggest influence in footie is his Dad and when asked about his teacher, Miss Lynch he said, 'She's OK'.
